Rekord is built by me, Crille Lampa, at the design studio Lampa Hellberg & Partners (LH+P) in Uppsala, Sweden. It's a side project that grew — no startup, no investors. Just a service I wanted for myself.
I collect vinyl. Every time I stood with a record in my hand — at a flea market, in a shop, at home with a pile of unidentified inheritances — I wanted to know the same thing: what does it actually cost, at Swedish stores and abroad? There was no good way to check without opening eight tabs. So I built one.
Identification is done by an AI model that's only allowed to read text actually printed on the sleeve — and the answer is always checked against Discogs before you see it. An honest "not found" beats a guess. Prices are fetched straight from the stores when you search. Some store links earn us a commission if you buy; that never affects which stores are shown or in what order. The whole machinery is described in How Rekord's price comparison works.
